Butter Brickle

Today I made Butter Brickle.  Butter Brickle is something my Mom makes every year at Christmas.  It is my brother's favorite Christmas treat.  I was never a fan of Butter Brickle.  However... now that I am half-way across the country I am craving everything "Home" and want some Butter Brickle!  Butter Brickle is chocolatey-chewy-nutty dessert.

I was going through my recipe box I received as a gift one year from my Mom.  It has some great recipes in it - one of them was Butter Brickle.  And I must say ... IT IS THE EASIEST THING IN THE WORLD!  Since my Mom only makes it at Christmas time, I assumed it was super difficult.  I will be making this again!

Ingredients:
Saltine Crackers
1 cup of Brown Sugar
1 cup of Butter
1 bag of Chocolate Chips
Chopped Walnuts

THAT'S IT!

Directions:

1. Lay saltine crackers out on a greased cookie sheet

2. Melt 1 cup of butter

3. Mix melted butter and 1 cup of brown sugar together (I heated the brown sugar and butter up a little more to make sure it was super melted.
4. Pour butter/brown sugar mixture over the saltine crackers
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes (watch it to make sure it doesn't burn).
6. Remove cookie sheet from oven and sprinkle the Chocolate Chips around the baking sheet
7. Smooth and spread the chocolate chips around so they can melt (kind of like frosting a cake)

8. Once the chocolate is covering the saltine crackers sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the chocolate
9. Put cookie sheet with hot saltine crackers, chocolate and walnuts in the refrigerator until cold
10. After the Butter Brickle is cool - remove from cookie sheet and ENJOY!
