Sunday Brunch at the Waterfront Grill

The Waterfront Grill is on the Arkansas River.  A co-worker recommended this restaurant to me and said it is her favorite.  I knew they did Sunday Brunch, so we decided to check it out.

It is pretty fancy!  Everything is nice- the view, the plates, the seating.. everything!  While they don't have a huge selection of options for Brunch, what they do have is worth getting.

Our waiter presented us with an option of $2 mimosas or a Build-Your-Own-Bloody-Mary-Bar.  We decided to be adventurous and go with Bloody Mary's.  HA!  We soon found out we had no idea what we were doing and both made our drinks way too spicy!  It was still a ton of fun!

Tulsa Oilers Game

Hockey Season is almost over... During the regular season, it was cold and snowy and Matt and I really didn't want to do anything.  We watched a lot of movies..

Matt heard from his coworkers that the Tulsa Oilers games were pretty fun.  But we missed the boat and thought we would have to wait until next year.  Lucky for us - THEY MADE THE PLAYOFFS!  There was a Groupon for tickets and we decided we would go.

It was at the BOK Center in downtown Tulsa.  It is a beautiful stadium and looks gorgeous on the outside.  The inside is even better!  It is BRAND NEW, super clean, and have quite a few different food options to choose from.

The Oilers game was a lot of fun. There weren't very many people there, so we could spread out! The Oilers lost :( but the atmosphere, energy and fighting among the teams made it worth going to!  We can't wait until next season!

Day-of-Wedding Binder

Weddings can be stressful enough!  I wanted to make sure I was SUPER organized for the wonderful event so I could enjoy myself.  My goal was to have everything ready to go and set up so that the day of the wedding I could relax and get ready to marry my best friend.

Luckily for me, my friends and family were more than willing to help set up, rearrange and make everything beautiful! My girlfriends all have a much better eye for detail and decor than I do... so it was a no brainer to ask them to set up for me.

The trouble was .. I couldn't be in two places at once - how were they going to know where I wanted things?  I had collected and made sooo many things that part of me felt I should be around to make sure everything was used.  Enter - the BINDER!

I made a binder for my friend/wedding coordinator Denise.  She came up for the rehearsal and we were able to walk the property and go over all of the lists, pictures and items included in THE BINDER.

While I can't post everything that was in the binder.. I will explain what was in it.

1. Master Schedule.
Holy Smokes was this helpful!  Denise, myself, the venue, and the DJ all had a copy of the Master Schedule.  This made sure everyone was kept on track and people knew where they were supposed to be.  I had other schedules for the guys and girls - but the master schedule included items like when vendors would be arriving, when to set up different areas of the venue, who would be helping, etc.

Instagram Sign

Everyone is doing this.. and it is absolutely wonderful!  I joined Instagram just so I could have a hashtag for our wedding!

It is a great way to capture pictures from your guests and see your wedding from a different view!  Some of our favorite pictures are from our friends and family on Instagram!

The first thing is to come up with a hashtag.  This can be difficult... I thought of a few creative ones that I thought would definitely not be used.. but alas! they were!

Our hashtag had already been used by a guy - two years ago - who posted two selfies to the hashtag #mattstacywedding.  Oh well!  We wanted to keep it simple so people would use it.

We had the hashtag put all over the place (or 3 places...)

Our hashtag was put on our wedding welcome sign.
I made this sign and framed it.
We put two signs in the reception area.

Our hashtag was on the wedding programs.

If you want to use the OH SNAP! Instagram sign - Click here to get an editable version.  I used Microsoft Office to create it.

Get your #hashtag on!

Ribbon Cake Pull

A girlfriend of mine told me about the Ribbon Cake Pull and I knew I had to do it!  Matt and I decided we did not want to do a garter toss or bouquet toss for our wedding.  We always felt really awkward at other weddings when we were single and were 'encouraged' by others to participate in the garter/bouquet toss.

I found a great article on Southern Weddings about the cake pull and it got me even more excited to do this!  Our wedding cake baker is a friend of our family and she thought I was crazy when I asked her to put these ribbons and charms underneath our cake.  However after it al came together she thought it was really special!

Wedding Program

I started working on this program in January.  Our wedding was in October!  I knew exactly what I wanted, and wasn't finding it.  I found some programs that were super cute, but did not find one that had EVERYTHING I wanted.

These turned out super cute!  I adjusted boxes in word and used a ton of fonts to create it.  I also made a wordsearch on http://puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com/.  I copied the wordsearch into the word document and changed the font.  In order to make sure the letters lined up and it continued to be a wordsearch I had to create a graph first (in word) and then formatted the wordsearch into the graph.  (It sounds more complicated than it was!)

I had these printed at Staples.  They were printed on regular sized paper, in LANDSCAPE so I could fit the front and the back on one sheet.  The guys at Staples cut these for me too.

My wonderful Bridesmaids and family helped glue these with a hot glue gun onto colorful paper and a stick to make it into a fan.  We decorated the fan with ribbon.

This was my FAVORITE project of the wedding!

Rehearsal Dinner Invitation

Fonts.  I absolutely love fonts.  I read a lot of different things online about how to make your wedding unique and special and personalized.  I 100% feel that fonts and creativity are the way to do this!

In this project I used: Octin Vintage, Janda Stylish Script, {skinny} jeans solid,  Intro Inline, Throw My Hands Up In the Air, Janda Celebration Script, Bohemian typewriter, FFF Tusj.  There are TONS of free fonts out there.  I would just download a bunch of free fonts and play with them until I had something I liked.

I started working on our program within two months of getting engaged.  I wanted to make sure I had plenty of time to tweak it and make it exactly as I had imagined.  Matt had to look at all 20+ versions I created and pretend that each one looked different from the one before!

When it came to the rehearsal dinner invitations, I was going to order something online.  I found really cute ones online, but either the font, or type of invitation wasn’t what I wanted.  I decided to make my own!  It was fun – did not take that long and was something I was pretty proud of!  The hardest part was formatting.  I realized that I had to complete certain blocks of text first, and others last (the Stacy and Matt script was difficult!  I kept cutting off the pretty swirls!)

Here is what I ended up with:
